I have been selling digital advertising solutions since 2006. I have a 89.7% close rate at the table and have built multiple 10 million dollar sales channels. I have personally closed over 30 million dollars in digital ad revenue all over the United States. In 2008 when the housing market fell apart, the stock market crashed, and many were proclaiming “Great Recession,” but I had one of my best years on record. 
I did all of this with a blank piece of paper a black sharpie marker and the simple philosophy, don’t sell/pitch a product/platform, sell the strategy.

Selling a product you are minimizing.
You’re reducing everything you can offer to a single item, a product.
Worse, if you sell a single product or a one legged strategy, and it doesn’t perform, then you are wrong and your client has no choice but to fire you.
Selling the strategy demonstrates to your prospect that they are talking to the expert.
No one ever questions the expert.
